FROM THE OFFICE

The word I want to use to describe our District Athletics team is: Excellence. “Excellence is the unlimited ability to improve the quality of what you have to offer” Rick Pitino. I want to congratulate every member of the team. You were true ambassadors, and we are so proud of you.

Next week is the cherry on the cake for our swimmers. All eyes are on them on Monday and Tuesday during their end of season league gala. Good luck to all our swimmers, strive to do your best and swim your hearts out.

Our computer labs are buzzing during our Robotics lessons. We are thrilled that we are able to offer Robotics at our school and thereby add another dimension to each child’s educational learning experience.

YADAH

This week we pray for our precious Grade 4s. We pray that they will experience God’s presence in their lives every day. We ask God to fill their hearts with joy, their minds with learning and their friendships with kindness. In our prayers, we also ask for God’s strength to help them be brave in times that they feel overwhelmed.

DISTRICT ATHLETICS TEAM

We would like to congratulate the following 13 athletes that have made the District team that will be participating in the Gauteng Athletics Championships to be held at Ruimsig on 10 – 11 March. Good luck to each athlete who will be participating.

CULTURAL FESTIVAL INFORMATION 2023

We are pleased to announce that our annual Cultural Festival will soon be in full swing. Cultural Festival entries opened on 20 February 2023.

This year the theme is “It begins with us”. Many of the sections require this theme to be depicted, so please ensure that you are aware of the requirements of each section.

Mass participation is a priority and we encourage each learner to participate in at least one item.

Entry fees will only be paid for Crafts, Flavour Festival, Flavour Festival – Masterclass, and Leading Ladies.

The judges’ decision is final. Please guide your child in the selection and practising of items. You are welcome to coach your child.

Please note: The staff are in charge of various sections but are not responsible for practising with the learners. To ensure confidence, please encourage your child to be well prepared.

Marks are awarded for participation. These participation marks, as well as the symbols achieved during their performance, are combined and calculated to determine the best overall cultural learners. The winners will be announced at our Sport and Cultural Gala Evening.

Please note the restrictions involved in the different sections and bear in mind that some of these items will take place on the same day.

No late entries will be accepted. The closing date for entries is 3 March 2023.

All learners from our school may participate in and attend the festival as spectators during the afternoon. However, no learners from other schools are allowed to participate in our Cultural Festival.

FOOD BAG PROJECT
MIDSTREAM CARES – BE INVOLVED!

Each year, Midstream College Primary School reaches out to families in need by providing basic non-perishable food and other household items. Together with KSM, we want to distribute food optimally and effectively to families in need. Food bags are filled by Midstream families every month and delivered to the school, whereafter they are handed over to KSM for distribution. Alternatively, you can choose to sponsor bags during the year by paying the amount per bag directly into the church’s account each month. This is an easy way to get involved in charity work and involve your children in a caring project.

If you wish to support this project, please register by clicking on the link below after which you will receive more information.
