Newsletter 7                                                              24 February 2022

FROM THE OFFICE

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all our parents of the rules regarding the attendance of events.
• Indoor venues are permitted to have a maximum of 1 000 people in attendance.
• Outdoor venues are permitted to have a maximum of 2 000 people in attendance.
• If a venue is too small to accommodate these maximum limits, the limit is set at 50% of that venue’s capacity.

Every person attending a venue, where a sport or cultural activity is taking place, must:
(a) wear a face mask
(b) adhere to all health protocols
(c) maintain a distance of at least one and a half metres from each other.

An owner or operator of a sporting facility or an organiser of a sporting event must ensure compliance with the limitation on the number of persons attending such a gathering. If the owner of a sporting facility or the organiser of the event does not comply with the regulations and is found to have contravened these guidelines, it will be seen as committing an offence, and they may be liable for a fine or a prison sentence not exceeding six months. If an enforcement officer, who is monitoring Covid-19 compliance at an event, sees non-compliance, then he or she may order people to disperse from the venue. If the person refuses, they could be fined or jailed.

Due to the above regulations, schools may not always allow spectators.

CHORAL VERSE

Welcome one and all!
Everyone from Grade 1 – 7 is welcome to join Choral Verse. Junior Choral Verse accommodates learners from Grade 1 – 3, while Senior Choral Verse is for any Grade 4 – 7 learners to participate in!  There are no auditions and absolutely everyone is welcome to join us!  We learn a poem and then present it as a group in front of an audience. Choral Verse exercises our memory, gives children a space in which to meet new friends and builds confidence.

Choral Verse will start in the second week of Term 2. Keep your eyes peeled for more information in the newsletters and on our new website.

MIDSTREAM CARES – BE INVOLVED!

Each year, Midstream College Primary School reaches out to families in need by providing basic non-perishable food and other household items. Together with KSM, we want to distribute food optimally and effectively to families in need. Food bags are filled by Midstream families every month and delivered to the school, whereafter they are handed over to KSM for distribution. Alternatively, you can choose to sponsor bags during the year by paying the amount per bag directly into the church’s account each month.

This is an easy way to get involved in charity work and include your children in a caring project.

Please see the pamphlet for further information.

If you wish to support this project, please register by clicking on the link.
