It was a wonderfully joyous day to see our learners back in action on the athletics track. Our learners’ talents and hard work are impressive. What made the day even more special was the presence and encouragement of our parents.

Thank you for your attendance at the Parents’ Information Evening last night. The turnout was phenomenal! Sadly, we could not address all our parents in the hall due to the Covid-19 regulations. However, what matters is that you met your child’s register teacher and that we, as a school, join hands with you, as parents, so as to ensure the best education for our children.

LOCKERS

Grade 4 to 7 learners wishing to make use of a locker this year, must reserve a locker by following the link below. Once all the lockers have been allocated to the Grade 4 to 7 learners, Grade 3 learners will then also be given the opportunity to reserve a locker. The application for lockers will close on Friday, 21 January 2022. Lockers will then be allocated to the respective learners on Monday, 24 January 2022.

SENIOR CHOIR AUDITIONS

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that our Senior Choir will start practising on 8 February 2022. Covid-19 protocol will be always adhered to and parents are assured that no child will be put at risk. Children who were in the 2021 Senior Choir do not need to attend an audition – they may simply attend practices as from 8 February 2022. Please take note of the following:

• Auditions will take place in Mrs Badenhorst’s classroom on Tuesday 25 January and Tuesday 1 February from 16:00 – 18:00. Mr Herman Steyn, our choir coach, will conduct the auditions.
• Should your child wish to join the Senior Choir, please follow the link and complete the Google form
• Children attending auditions do not need to learn or practise any specific song.
• Choir practices take place in the school hall on Tuesdays from 16:00 – 18:00.

SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS

As in the past, the Science textbooks (Science Dissected) are ordered directly from the publishers by the school to eliminate the’ middleman’ and keep the costs lower. Unfortunately, this textbook cannot be purchased from another publisher. For this reason, you were not able to order this textbook from MC Primary Bookshop. An amount of R230.00 for a Grade 4 to 7 Science textbook will be debited to your February 2022 statement.

TECHNOLOGY

The Technology Department welcomes you back and wishes you a successful 2022.

The Technology textbook for the year is ordered by the school and R100-00 will be invoiced to your school account at the end of February 2022.

At the start of each term, you will be provided with a list of all additional materials needed for practical projects. These materials can be purchased directly from Eventology or you may purchase them elsewhere. The school will not administer this process.

Should you wish to order from Eventology, the order, payment and collection thereof must be done through Eventology directly. Remember to indicate the items you need on the list and submit it to Eventology. They will then pack your order – which may take up to a week – and notify you regarding collection.

JUNIOR CHOIR (OPELA)

Does your Grade 1, 2 or 3 child love to sing? Everyone is welcome to join the Junior Choir (Opela) as there are NO AUDITIONS.

Practice day: Wednesday
Time: 14:00 – 15:00
Venue: Auditorium

GOLF 2022

The school would like to provide our learners with the opportunity to play golf with their friends on Tuesdays. Learners who are therefore skilled enough to play nine holes, without assisstance, are welcome to join the golfers on Tuesdays where they will be able to play nine holes under supervision. This arrangement will start on 1 February and will continue until 8 March 2022. Players must report to the Golf Course at 14:00. In order to adhere to the Covid-19 regulations, we need to compile a list of the learners who are interested in playing golf on Tuesdays. Therefore, please send Mr. Kotze an email with your child’s name, surname and grade.  THESE SESSIONS ARE NOT COACHING SESSIONS but provide learners, who can already play, an opportunity to play.
