FROM THE OFFICE

The effect on sport of parents as spectators is significant. Sport is filled with evidence of players who find "that little something extra" when playing in front of their parents. The momentum, self-confidence, self-belief and motivation that parents provide our players with, is invaluable. It was therefore a joyous day for us when we welcomed our parents back to our sporting events.

We look forward to continuing on this note next year.

We wish all our learners well for the upcoming exams. We know that you will prepare well and do your best.

I would like to share this prayer from Living Prayers with you:

Dear Heavenly Father

Be with me as I take this exam.
Keep my mind alert and my memory sharp.
Calm my nerves and help me concentrate.
I know that you walk with me, Guiding my path and inspiring my heart.
I pray that I would feel you with me,
And that your friendship would soften the pressure I feel.
I pray that I would successfully complete this exam and go on to new things with you.

Thank you for your peace and your love in my life,
Thank you for your kindness and care for me.

Amen

REVERSE ADVENT CALENDER

THE JOY OF GIVING LASTS MUCH LONGER THAN THE JOY OF RECEIVING.
“Nothing else in all life is such a maker of joy and cheer as the privilege of doing good.”
– James Russell Miller

A school tradition is to dedicate our last outreach project of each year to our amazing Ground Staff. Our Midstream families donate certain items and thereafter, we put lovely ‘Goodie Bags’ together for our workers as a Christmas gift.

Everyone loves advent calendars and children adore receiving one at the beginning of December because it gets them excited for Santa coming, and every surprise that they open on the way is a promise of what’s to come.

Inspired by this idea of receiving a little bit of joy each day, we are reversing the advent calendar to rather GIVE a little bit of joy!

The weeks in November have been divided into certain categories and each day has its own product / item. You can either send the item on each relevant day, or as a family collect them during the week and bring the week’s items to school on the Friday. In fact, whenever it suits you! The idea is to have fun together as a family and to use this calendar to teach your children about giving and bringing joy to others.

We hope you enjoy this project!
