MIDSTREAM COLLEGE TRUST CONCERT

The three Midstream schools will host a concert in the Midstream Ridge theatre on Friday, 12 November at 19:00, in lieu of the Midstream College Trust. Ivan Roux and Ruhan du Toit are the performing artists. Tickets are now available. Please click on the link below to book tables of 10 seats at R180, R200 and R250 per seat. Platters can be ordered online beforehand when you book your tickets. These platters will be available at the show for your convenience. More information regarding the platters and prices will be available as soon as possible. You are also welcome to bring along your own refreshments and enjoy the evening with us.

REVERSE ADVENT CALENDER

A school tradition is to dedicate our last outreach project of each year to our amazing Ground Staff. Our Midstream families donate certain items and thereafter, we put lovely ‘Goodie Bags’ together for our workers as a Christmas gift.

Everyone loves advent calendars and children adore receiving one at the beginning of December because it gets them excited for Santa coming, and every surprise that they open on the way is a promise of what’s to come.

Inspired by this idea of receiving a little bit of joy each day, we are reversing the advent calendar to rather GIVE a little bit of joy!

The weeks in November have been divided into certain categories and each day has its own product / item. You can either send the item on each relevant day, or as a family collect them during the week and bring the week’s items to school on the Friday. In fact, whenever it suits you! The idea is to have fun together as a family and to use this calendar to teach your children about giving and bringing joy to others.

ENGLISH – GRADE 4 TO 7 LEARNERS

Save money! Save paper! Please save your English file, plastic sleeves, coloured dividers and black dictionary for next year so that you don’t have to order new ones. The second hand clothing store is also in need of set work readers, so please hand in any school readers, that are no longer needed, to the shop.

GRACE ENSEMBLE (ACAPELLA GROUP) AUDITIONS 2022

• Auditions will be held on Wednesday, 17 November in Music Class No. 6.
    Grade 4 and 5: 10:15 – 11:15
    Grade 6: 11:15 – 12:00
    Grade 3: 12:00
• Parents are not permitted to sit in the venue during the auditions.
• Once your child has auditioned, they are welcome to go home.
• Results will be sent via email to parents.
• Children who wish to audition, need to prepare an acapella (no accompaniment allowed) song of no  
   longer than one minute.

SCHOOL CLOTHING SHOP

Our school uniforms can be purchased from The Uniform Shop at Square@Midstream. Lizelle Green and her shop assistants will assist you with all your needs.

Shop times for the rest of this year:

 During the week (Monday to Friday), except where otherwise indicated: 07:00 to 17:00.
 The shop will be open from 2 December 2021 to 15 December 2021 from 8:00 to 16:00.
 This year, the shop will close from 15 December 2021 at 16:00 and reopen on 4 January 2022 at 08:00.
     The shop will be open from 4 January to 15 January from 08:00 to 16:00.
 The shop will be open on 11 January 2022 from 08:00 to 17:00.

We encourage parents purchase all necessary school uniforms and requirements by 15 December, as the shop is very busy in January.

MEDIA CENTRE

All outstanding library books must be returned to the Media Centre as soon as possible. Please encourage your child to try and find lost/missing books as this will cultivate a culture of responsibility and caring towards the Media Centre’s books. No library books may be borrowed for the December holidays.
