FROM THE OFFICE

It is heart-warming to see all our learners back on the sports field, where they have the opportunity to develop physically and socially and prepare themselves for the race of life. Learners have the opportunity to relax socially, form friendships outside the classroom, while also learning perseverance, endurance, self-discipline, self-control, honesty, team spirit and integrity.

TENNIS

Pierre de la Port, a Grade 7 learner and member of our first tennis team, participated in a big interprovincial TSA tennis tournament at Ellis Park, as a member of the Gauteng North Tennis Team, during the past weekend. It is the second consecutive year that Pierre has been selected for this team. Like a True Midstream Tennis Tiger, he played excellent tennis and held the name of his school high! We are proud of you, Pierre!

AFRIKAANS ORATORS

During the past 3 weeks, 34 of our school’s top Grade 2 to Grade 7 Afrikaans Orators, as well as two teams of orators, participated in the first round of both the Artistatue and the Oppie Tong Af Orators Competitions. Seven Afrikaans Addisionele Taal orators were included in this group, of which we are very proud indeed! All of these orators performed exceptionally, and we hope that many of them will be selected to take part in the nationwide final rounds of the two competitions.
