You never really know the true impact you have on those around you. You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them. You never know how much your kindness turned someone’s entire life around. You never know how much someone needed that deep talk. So do not wait to be kind. Do not wait for someone else to be kind first. Do not wait for better circumstances or for someone to change. Just be kind because you never know how much someone needs it.

School closes on Friday, 2 July for the holidays and reopens on 27 July for Term 3.
Please take note of the following times that the school will close:
Grade 1 and 2: 11:30
Grade 3 and 4: 11:45
Grade 5 to 7: 12:00

COVID-19

Please take note that the NICD guidelines and protocol are strictly enforced in the classrooms and classrooms are disinfected according to these guidelines every afternoon.

Bearing this in mind, please remember that it is of greater benefit for learners to attend contact teaching at our school. The benefits are not only academically based but also provide for the emotional needs of the learners.

We kindly request that parents keep learners at home if any household members go for a COVID-19 test and that the whole household quarantines when any family members test positive for COVID-19.

BOOKS

If your child is attending school online at present and needs any books or workbooks, please contact the relevant teachers so that the requirements can be sent to the office for you to collect.

EK KAN SPEL / I CAN SPELL

The “Ek Kan Spel” and “I Can Spell” tests scheduled for Tuesday, 29 June, will take place as planned.

Learners will not be able to complete these tests online. Absent learners will complete the tests next term.

CREATIVE AND FUN HOLIDAY CLUB

The creative and fun holiday club will take place at the school from 19 – 23 July. Kindly contact Louise before 2 July on 083 412 6834 if you are interested in sending your child along.

CHARACTER DAY

On Friday, 2 July the primary school will be transformed into a world of storybooks – each learner (Grade 1–7) may dress as their favourite English/Afrikaans storybook character. The emphasis will be on creative, innovative ideas to minimise the effect on parents’ wallets. Learners may wear their full school uniform with a few accessories. Alternatively, they may dress in complete outfits according to a character of their choice or wear normal casual clothing. Participation in the Character Day is not compulsory.
– Reading gives us a place to go when we have to stay right where we are.

MIDSTREAM ATHLETICS CLUB

Attention all athletes and potential athletes!

Due to Level 3 Covid regulations, the Athletics Club will not be able to continue with preparations during the July holidays for the third term club athletic season. The club will start with preparation when the school commences for the third term. According to the last communication from ASA (Athletics South Africa), meetings have been scheduled for September and October. We still have a whole month to prepare for these meetings.

It is important to register all athletes who would like to compete in these meetings in the third term before July as AGN license numbers, as well as shirts, have to be ordered.

Coaching fees will only be payable from August onwards.
