We have been touched by the kindness and goodness of our learners and parents. Thank you for your contribution to the Clothes to Good campaign. We look forward to receiving the final statistics, however, we already know that we have made an immense difference and have deeply touched other’s lives with our generous contribution.

We are very disappointed that our rugby, netball and choirs were cancelled so quickly as we find these activities most beneficial to our learners. We are, however, grateful that the other activities may continue and we encourage learners to get involved with these activities.

Gratitude gives meaning to yesterday, gives peace to today and creates a dream for tomorrow.

We once again appeal to our learners and parents to respect the rules of lockdown and to be responsible. Positivity is the biggest achievement, so let’s tackle each day with renewed hope and please remember to ask for help, if needed.

#CRAZYSOCKS4DOCS DAY

Friday, 4 June is CrazySocks4Docs Day, or #CS4D! for short. It is a day on which awareness is raised of the mental health needs of all our healthcare workers, especially during COVID-19. What can we do to show our support and turn awareness into action? That’s easy – just wear a pair of mismatched socks – the craziest combination you can find in your cupboard! It’s the perfect time to wear those socks that have been missing their partners for a while!

We would like to use this day to remind everyone that our healthcare workers have been working under immense pressure during this pandemic and have been experiencing enormous strain and trauma. We are so dependent on this amazing group of people and the campaign (#CS4D) is aimed at showing our support.

Dr Marita van Schalkwyk from the Ithemba Foundation, who launched this project, says that wearing a crazy pair of socks means that you are standing with these healthcare workers during these stressful times and in the process you are trying to make someone smile and even bringing hope and joy.

Our learners and staff can wear their coolest, craziest socks tomorrow (4 June) to be part of this awareness campaign!

SCHOOL UNIFORM

The cold weather has definitely arrived. We therefore ask for learners to dress warmly as the windows in the classrooms need to be left open for ventilation purposes. We recommend that learners wear bomber jackets with their school uniforms and tracksuits.

EQUESTRIAN

We wish our Equestrian team well for Qualifier 3, taking place on 5 and 6 June at Eaton Farm.
