SWIMMING: WINTER TRAINING PROGRAMME

The winter training programme will start on Monday, 3 May at the Midlands heated indoor swimming pool. All swimmers who formed part of the training group in Term 1 are welcome to participate in the winter training programme. The following arrangements are important for attending the winter training programme at the Midlands swimming pool.

• Swimmers who live in Midlands Estate only need to register at the swimming pool.
• Swimmers who do not live in Midlands Estate, need to complete a registration form (Ms. Carien Kruger
will e-mail it to swimmers’ parents) and apply for an access card, at a cost of R50. These swimmers
need to register at the access gate to Midlands as well as at the swimming pool.
• The administrative staff of Midlands Estate have a team list with all the swimmers’ names, and
   registration will take place accordingly.

The following staff members will be coaching the winter training programme:
Ms. Elmarie van Dyk
Ms. Carna Kriel
Ms. Trudy Strobel

The practice days and times are as follows:
Mondays: 14:00 – 15:00
Wednesdays: 14:00 – 15:00

A swimming cap is compulsory.

The Inter-schools Gala has been postponed until September/October. It is important for swimmers to remain fit during winter to compete in the Inter-schools Gala. All club swimmers must attend a minimum of one practice per week.

GOLF 2021

We would like to give our learners the opportunity to play golf with their friends on Tuesdays. Learners who are therefore able to play nine holes on their own, are welcome to join the golfers on Tuesdays where they will be able to play nine holes under supervision. This arrangement will start on 4 May and will continue until 15 June 2021. Players must report to the Golf Course at 14:00. To adhere to the Covid 19 regulations, we need to compile a list of the learners who are interested in playing golf on Tuesdays. Therefore, please send Mr. Kotze an email with your child’s name, surname and grade. THESE SESSIONS ARE NOT COACHING SESSIONS but provide learners, who can already play, an opportunity to play. For further information, please contact Mr. Kotze on (012) 661 0724 or email schalkk@midstreamcollege.co.za. (Cost: R50-00 per player per afternoon.)

Should there be any learners who would like to start playing golf, or who require lessons, please enquire at the Golf Course.
