Nothing else in all life is such a maker of joy and cheer as the privilege of doing good.” — James Russell Miller

In the past, our Term 4 Outreach Project consisted of our Midstream families donating items, which were then used to make ‘Goodie Bags’ for our amazing Ground Staff as a Christmas gift.

However, this year, we would like to try something a little different. Instead of donating one type of product per grade, we thought that a Reverse Advent Calendar would be a fun idea!

Everyone loves advent calendars and children adore receiving one at the beginning of December because it gets them excited for Santa’s arrival, and every surprise that they open on the way is a promise of what’s to come.

Inspired by this idea of receiving a little bit of joy each day, we reversed the advent calendar to rather GIVE a little bit of joy each day! Each school day will be allocated its own product / item. This item can then be sent to school on each relevant day, or the items can for the week can be collected, and then be brought to school on the Friday. In fact, whenever it suits you! The idea is to have fun together as a family and to use this calendar to teach your child/ren about giving and bringing joy to others.

This outreach project is voluntary.  It is every parent's own choice whether they want to participate or  not.  You do not have to donate items every day, you can choose which days or how many days you are prepared to participate.

We hope you enjoy this project! Click on the link below for Midstream’s Reverse Advent Calendar.
