Newsletter 09                                                             14 March 2019

Important dates

What a busy term we have had. I am sure that all our learners are looking forward to a lovely holiday. I hope that everyone will have a good rest but please also make time to read a book or two.

Congratulations to our learners for all their excellent achievements this term. I am especially proud of our swimmers and athletes. The learners who have been successful in the academic, cultural or other sporting fronts this term, are also to be commended. I would like to thank each participant for their enthusiasm. I would also like to congratulate our speakers on the extraordinarily high standard of their presentations. You are all stars!

Good luck to the boys and girls who will be leaving on their respective sports tours. We should always strive to improve ourselves. Seize the opportunity and keep Midstream College’s name high.

We will be bidding a sad farewell to Inke van Wyk tomorrow. It is incredibly hard to say goodbye to a person who has meant so much to us as a school and we will forever be grateful for the incredible contribution she has made. Inke has always been passionate about each and every learner that she has come into contact with. Whilst our hearts are filled with sadness at the thought of her no longer being a part of our school, we wish her many blessings and a prosperous future career.

I would like to wish everyone an exciting holiday.

School starts at 07:45 and ends at 12:00.
Learners must come to school in their PE clothing. Schoolbags are not necessary.
Learners will first go to their register classes and will return to their respective classes, to receive their reports, at the end of the day.

The tuckshop will be open.

Remember your hat and sunscreen!

As a Midstream community we are all joining hands to host our first Street Store in the Olievenhoutbosch area on 18 May 2019.

The Street Store is a worldwide initiative where a pop-up clothing store is created in an under-privileged area. The people from that community choose an item of clothing, to their liking, for free. At the same time, they experience the love of God first hand.

We invite all children and parents from Midstream to be part of this amazing initiative.

How can you get involved?

• Donate any clothing or shoes, in a good and clean condition, that you do not wear any more. (Adult or
children’s clothing, especially winter clothing is welcome). Drop it off at your school or at one of the
  churches in Midstream.
• Volunteer as a family on the day of the Street Store (18 May). Follow the link to see the different areas that
  are available.
• Help sort out the clothing on the Monday before the event (13 May).

The last day for donations is10 May.
