FROM THE OFFICE
We are so grateful to all our parents and children who have shown kindness and acceptance towards each other as well as towards all of the learners at Midstream College. This past week has certainly shown many of us that our path is carved out by a Greater Being and blessed as we strive towards achievement along the way.
So many of our learners have been giving of their absolute best in their schoolwork as well as in their day-to-day activities. We are pleased to share the successes of our revue groups, from Midstream College High School, Midstream Ridge, our Senior Primary School Group as well as our Junior Revue Group who all ensured the recognition of Midstream Schools’ names on the map with their stunning performances and placements at the Kaleidoscope competition over the past few days. Both our revue groups attained places, the Senior Revue group being place second and our Junior Revue group being placed first! What wonderful achievements!
We commend our learners for their hard work and dedication to their activities as well as to their schoolwork. Your commitment is certainly saluted.

YADAH
Gracious God, we are grateful for the kindness and generosity You show us every day. We ask that You help us to see those around us in the same way that You do. Shape our hearts to be like Yours, and guide our hands by Your spirit in showing kindness and generosity to others today. Amen.

CASUAL DAY
The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) is proud to announce that the 29th Casual Day will be celebrated on 1 September this year!
This year's theme is so easy to practise daily: Share a smile!
William Arthur Ward said, “A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.”
At Midstream College we are proud to support this deserving fundraising project by making Casual Day stickers available at R20 each at Tuck In. Please note that cash only will be accepted as payment for the stickers.
What to wear:
On Friday, 1 September 2023, the NCPD calls on everyone in your area to smile beautifully to help make South Africa a friendlier place.
It is also Spring Day and we are very happy for our learners to wear casual clothes and should they wish to wear a flower in their hair, this is also encouraged.

MCP LIBRARY WEEK 4 – 8 SEPTEMBER
We start the library week with donations of good, well-looked-after books. Books that cannot be used in the library will be donated to other less privileged schools. On Tuesday, stories will be read by our MCP teachers during second break! On Wednesday the famous author Jaco Jacobs will come to visit us, remember your reading book for his signature. On Wednesday and Thursday there will be a book fair in the library between 12:00 and 15:00. However, no cash will be accepted. Parents are welcome to come along and look at the various exhibitions and invest in their child’s reading enjoyment. On Friday, the week will end again with book donations to the library. Be part of this opportunity to make our community aware of the value of their children’s reading skills.
