Our learners’ education is built on three pillars, namely: academics, sports and culture, with academics always taking priority. However, my wish is that every learner will reach their potential in every field of their life this term. The characteristically busy third term has picked up speed quickly with our Cultural groups’ performances having started and with our sport which is once again in full swing. We wish all our learners all the best this term.

SQUASH

Congratulations to each of the following players who participated in the Interprovincial squash tournaments from 24 – 28 June 2023. The U11 players played in Port Elizabeth, while the U13 players competed in East London.

SUPPORT OUR NATIONAL SPORT TEAMS

We would like to show our support to South Africa’s Green and Gold on Friday 28 July.

The Netball World Cup starts on Friday, the Springboks play against Argentina on Saturday, Banyana Banyana is currently holding our name high at the FIFA Women’s World Cup and our swimmers make our hearts beat warmly at their World Aquatics Championships.

Show your support by wearing denim and a supporter’s shirt / t-shirt in the colours of your sports team.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

All learners at Midstream College are currently expected to be dressed in their winter school uniform.

PHOTO DAY

The Foundation phase photo day is on 3 August and the Intersen phase photo day is on 17 August.

Photos will be taken in winter uniform with blazer and tie. No jerseys must be worn for the photos. Individual photos and group photos will be taken.

GOLF 2023

The school would like to afford our learners the opportunity to play golf with their friends on Tuesdays. Learners, who are therefore able to play nine holes on their own, are welcome to join the golfers on Tuesdays where they will be able to play nine holes under supervision. This arrangement will start on 1 August and will continue until 12 September 2023 (excluding the following date – 8 August). Players must report to the Golf Course promptly at 14:00.

THESE SESSIONS ARE NOT COACHING SESSIONS but provide learners, who can already play, an opportunity to play. These games will be used as trials to determine our golf teams for the fourth term. All players need to attend a minimum of two of these sessions in order to be considered for the school team. Please contact Mr Kotze in person if this is not possible.
