Newsletter 36                                                          24 November 2022

FROM THE OFFICE

The light at the end of the tunnel is shining brightly for the Grade 4 to 7 learners as their exams draw to a close. Their excitement is also running high as all our learners look forward to educational presentations on the school premises, excursions or grade tours. Our wish for each of our learners is safety, fun, joy and unforgettable experiences to celebrate the end of a very successful school year.

I close with the wise words of Aristotle: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

YADAH

This week we pray for all the school tours. We thank the Lord for this wonderful opportunity for our children. We pray for a safe journey on the bus. We pray for the safety and good health of each child and teacher. We also pray for successful camps, that our children will enjoy each moment and that they will return with wonderful new memories and good experiences.

SING IN MIDSTREAM

Sing in Midstream is back and is going to be better than before. This year there will be old school sing-along Christmas carols for the whole family to enjoy. Join us from 17h00 on 27 November at Midstream Ridge Primary for a celebration with community, Christmas family photographs, fun for kids, refreshments and a bite to eat. Book your tickets from R50 at Quicket .

We will have 2 x R1000 SPAR vouchers as spot prizes during the evening. Together with Spar we are running a Charity Comfort Box initiative this year. It’s very simple - choose and remove a tag from the Christmas tree at the entrance of either of the Spar stores and scan it at the cashier. Your comfort box will be packed and added to the collection bin. Your comfort box will be first-line assistance for children, women, and men who have been victims of Gender Based Violence, rape, and human trafficking. Our support this year goes towards The Epic Foundation and Yenzani Children's Home.

MUSIC STUDIO

The past year has been a very successful year in the Music department, with winners in different categories at various competitions. We have talented, professional musicians offering music lessons. Students attend 30 lessons per year with the payment thereof divided into 4 instalments. The lessons are 30 minutes per week and the music lessons are attended at the Midstream College studios. Music lessons take place in school hours during non-academic periods such as: L.O., Music, and Art, as well as after school.

The department is in high demand and a limited amount of space is available for 2023. If you are interested in enrolling your child for lessons for 2023, please follow the following link for more information on the webpage.
