At long last the long anticipation for SpringFest is over. This Saturday, 10 September, is forecast as a beautiful sunny spring day, especially for this special day on the school’s calendar. We look forward to seeing many of our families joining in the festivities around SpringFest. From the attraction of the wide variety of games for the children, the many stalls exhibiting many different products, to the music-filled evening where we will be entertained by some of South Africa’s finest musicians, we look forward to enjoyment and participation in Spring at its finest. Should you not have this on your calendar yet, this is certainly a function not to miss.

Our Senior Revue represented our school so well in the finals of SA champs. We thank these learners and their parents for their dedication. Our cricketers also represented Midstream College well and we are also proud of them. From leagues to day-nights and a Big Bash, these boys certainly filled cricketing grounds in many places. Keep up the hard work, boys.

We were also excited to fill our mini hockey fields with aspiring players as well as fielding Bev Cricketers at Midstream Ridge. Our sport and cultural activities are certainly keeping our children active. Well done, boys and girls!

YADAH

This week we pray  for:  animals – for their care and safe keeping. We pray against abuse. We pray for veterinarians and the good work they do. We also pray for organisations like the SPCA, animal shelters and other groups that look after abused and neglected animals.

GOLF

Congratulations to Lian Strauss who was selected for the the Gauteng North Golf Union Nomads SA U13 team. He will compete in the championship at Maccauvlei Golf Club from 4 to 7 October. Good luck, Lian.

TENNIS

Congratulations to the U13A and B Girls Teams. Both of these teams are league winners in their respective sections. They are:

U13A Girls: Louise Pieterse, Ona Mahopo, Lienke Ponting, Giselle Prinsloo

U13B Girls: Aiko Viljoen, Pamela James, Lara Kamfer, Megan Klerck

NEW YADAH PROJECT: PET FOOD

No one needs to wonder whether pets are loved and cared for in Midstream! Our children’s faces light up when they get the opportunity to talk about their pets. For our next project, we will collect any dog and cat food, which we will donate to various organisations, including PawsRUs, Wet Nose and the SPCA. Should you wish to participate in this project, please send any bag of pet food to your child’s register teacher. Thank you!

HOLIDAY CLUB

A holiday club will be presented at the school from Monday, 26 September to Thursday, 29 September from 08:00 – 17:00 and Friday, 30 September from 08:00 – 13:00. All learners are welcome. If you are interested, please complete the Google Form below before / on 16 September.

SWIMMING

The swimming trials for the swimming team for term 4 will be held on the following days:
