Newsletter 19                                                                     9 June 2022

FROM THE OFFICE

We have been able to return to our normal schedules and activities during this year. This has given us a great appreciation for the opportunity that our children once again have to participate in all these activities. We are also incredibly grateful to see the number of learners who have enthusiastically thrown themselves into the various activities. Our children’s dedication, determination and team-spirit impresses me daily.

Each day is an opportunity to make a difference. We would like to develop an environment at our school where love and friendliness towards each other is an integral part of our way. Our grade fours along with the English department celebrated a “Merry Month of May Kindness Challenge”. Our Midstream families actively made a difference by donating hundreds of jackets and coats. Thank you so very much to everyone who works at making our world a better place every day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please note that due to Youth Day (public holiday on 16 June), there will be no newsletter next week and also that 17 June is a school day, not a school holiday.

YOUTH DAY

“Our children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation.” – Nelson Mandela. Our children are our future and they represent our beautiful rainbow nation. The South African National flag is the only six-coloured national flag in the world. The design and colours are intended to represent all the diverse segments of the population by uniting them as one. Therefore, to celebrate Youth Day, we would like the children to dress in casual clothes representing one of the colours of our National flag on Friday, 17 June. We look forward to this special day, celebrating the youth of our beautiful rainbow nation.

YADAH

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who donated jackets (or winter clothes). The project was a tremendous success and we were able to donate hundreds of jackets. So many people will benefit from the generosity and kindness of our Midstream families.

This week we pray for: our Midstream parents
We pray for wisdom, good relationships, emotional health and God’s blessings in every parent’s life. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them in their choices and that every parent will experience God’s presence and power in his/her life.
